Publication: Quality Inspection of Battery Separators by Partial Discharge Spectroscopy

The DigiCell teams from Keysight Technologies and Johannes Kepler Universität Linz have recently published the first DigiCell publication "Quality Inspection of Battery Separators by Partial Discharge Spectroscopy" in ChemElectroChem.

In this journal article they describe an innovative method, in which they apply a high voltage to the dry electrode assembly and measure transient partial discharge events. Through rigorous statistical analysis and advanced classification procedures, they can detect faulty separators with exceptional confidence. This advancement promises to enhance efficiency and reliability in battery manufacturing, paving the way for more robust and safe energy storage solutions.
