DigiCell at AABC 2025

On 23-36 June 2025, The Advanced Automotive Battery Conference (AABC) Europe 2025 took place in Mainz, Germany.

Fabian Guignard from DigiCell partner METAS, the Swiss metrology institute, presented a poster with the title "SOH Estimation of Li-ion Batteries from EIS Data: ML Model Comparison and Frequency Selection".

The poster showed a machine learning approach to predict battery State of Health (SOH) using only Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) data. METAS explores how reducing the number and range of frequencies can speed up measurements while maintaining predictive accuracy — a step toward efficient, real-time battery diagnostics. The poster was contributing to the Battery Intelligence Session of the conference.

In addition, though not directly related to DigiCell, Alejandro Franco, Team Leader of CNRS/Université Jules Verne de Picardie in DigiCell, was at the conference chairing the session on High-Performance Battery Manufacturing and giving an invited lecture on applying physics-aware AI to optimize the battery manufacturing.

AABC Europe brings together experts in battery technology, developers and suppliers from across the world. It was thus the perfect opportunity for DigiCell to present results as the project’s innovations in the manufacturing and testing processes for battery cells and packs are to be applied in the automotive industry.
